New Models Feature USB and Serial Interfaces along with Added Surge Protection
COSTA MESA , Calif. - November 24, 2003 -
MGE UPS SYSTEMS INC. the technology leader in providing unsurpassed power protection solutions to computer data centers, telecommunications and industrial operations, has enhanced its best-selling Pulsar ellipse line of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) with new universal communication interfaces and beefed up surge protection. At the same time MGE has announced price reductions ranging from 5 to 10 percent, depending on the model.
"The new ellipse USBS line for workstations and small servers is designed to make our best-selling UPS - with more than 1 million installations worldwide - even easier for customers and resellers to select, purchase and install," explained Jack Pouchet, MGE's director of marketing.
Available in power ratings from 300VA to 1200VA, the ellipse models now include all-in-one USB and serial connectivity on all communication-ready models. Cables for both connectors are included to ensure that the UPS is immediately operational in either USB (Windows XP/ME/2000 or Macintosh OSX/OS9) or serial (Linux, Windows NT) environments. MGE's Solution-PAC software is included on a CD with each UPS to enable power monitoring and control that will ensure maximum data integrity for connected systems by initiating an orderly system shutdown in the event of a prolonged power disturbance.
In addition, the new models feature high-performance filtering of voltage surges and line noise including special surge-only outlets designed to protect connected peripherals from voltage spikes and surges while assuring maximum backup time for critical computers. For another level of protection, the new ellipse models incorporate data line protection to prevent "backdoor" damage from disturbances that can come through telephone/fax/modem or Ethernet lines. Available now, the new models are UL Listed, CSA certified and meet worldwide standards for safety and performance. List prices start at $119 for the 300VA USBS model.
