Because our manufacturing and operations affect the environment by consuming natural resources and generating waste, MGE Office Protection Systems has implemented an Environmental Management System that helps us achieve compliance with applicable laws and regulations worldwide and with our own company guidelines.
The actions related to ISO 14001 certification on MGE Office Protection Systems sites are:
minimizing the amount of waste generated at our manufacturing and non manufacturing sites
sorting and recycling waste: paper, cardboard, glass, metals, plastic and all production wastes including batteries, sheet metal…
controlling water and electricity consumption,
respecting the applicable standards,
increasing the awareness of the employees.
The Eco-design product development process is included in the ISO 14001 certification since 2005.
Eco-design looks at the environmental aspects at all stages of the product development process to design products that make the lowest environmental impact throughout the product life cycle.
Eco-design does not mean designing a product only on the basis of environmental criteria, but rather integrating the environment as a parameter taken into consideration during the design phase with client expectations, cost control, technical feasibility, etc.
Raw material
Try to minimize the use of raw material : thinner sheet metal, …
reducing the number of the components and the quantity of materials used in the design of a product.
Manufacturing
Product Environmental Profile of products giving product material content, environmental impacts…
ISO 14001 Continuous environmental improvement of products from one generation to the next.
Life Cycle Analysis of products to know what are the main environmental impacts and where to work for reducing these imapacts.
Energy consumption during use
IsIs one the most significant environmental impact of our product through its life cycle. This is why we design our products to reduce their energy consumption and energy losses.
Optimizing the performance of our products and minimizing the generation of harmonics in order to participate in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions generated during the production of electricity.
Design for Expandability for future use
In an effort to increase the useful life of our products and to keep them from going into the waste stream prematurely, we provide the means to expand the products’ capabilities.
End of life
Reducing the hazardous substances used in the composition of equipment or generated during the manufacturing process.
End Of Life Instruction for a clean dismantling and recycling of end of life products.
